The K25 Mentoring System

Each K25 Fellow is given a Regular Mentor (K25 Staff) and a Professional Mentor (company executive) who will guide him throughout the course. The RM focuses on personal formation while the PM on professional formation.





PERSONAL MENTORING


The RM meets the Fellow twice a month. He monitors his progress in the different aspects of the K25 Leadership Forum: work ethics (scholarship), piety, service, leadership and virtue. He uses the K25 mentoring manual as a guide to measure the growth of the Fellow in these aspects.
In each meeting, the RM sets personal development goals for the Fellow for each month, suggests means on how to achieve these goals and reviews regularly if they are met.
At the end of each mentoring session, the RM sets the next appointment with the Fellow.




PROFESSIONAL MENTORING


The PM may also discuss with the Fellow all the aspects of the K25 Leadership Forum as mentioned above although—because of limited time—he focuses on his "professional" growth now as a student and in preparation for his professional life.
 During the first meeting, the PM reviews the professional plan of the Fellow. From this, he may give the Fellow advice on values and virtues related to professional life. Based from the discussion with the Fellow, he may set goals for the next mentoring sessio.
In each meeting, the PM reviews the professional development goals agreed upon in the previous meeting and how the Fellow meets them. The PM shall help the Fellow look for means to achieve these goals without "spoon-feeding" him. The Fellows are encouraged to be responsible, reliable and entrepreneurial (i.e., having lots of initiatives).
At the end of each mentoring session, the PM sets the next appointment with the Fellow (ideally once a month; at least once per quarter).




GET-TOGETHER WITH PM
Each PM gives one talk to or holds a get-together with all the K25 Fellows at least once within the year. The talk may be held at Kapuluan, in the PM's office or in any place convenient for the PM and the Fellows. This talk or get-together is arranged by the PM with the Fellow assigned to him, who in turn coordinates with the K25 Coordinator for Program/Activities.
